Hydro Ottawa has announced that funding is on the way to eligible applicants for EV charging stations within the city of Ottawa.

Hydro Ottawa has announced that funding is on the way to eligible applicants for EV charging stations within the city of Ottawa.
If you’ve got a business that could stand to benefit from an EV charging station, Hydro Ottawa can hook you up and cover 50 percent of the project costs.
More information on this project will be released in the near future, however, Hydro Ottawa has marked the following establishments as being eligible for funding.
- multi-unit residential buildings
- light-duty fleets
- workplaces
- on-street parking
- public places such as retail, restaurants, service stations, medical offices
Record-breaking Detour
The 2021 Toyota Mirai has officially set the Guinness World Records title for the longest distance by a hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle without refueling.
The water-powered wonder car managed to essentially circumnavigate southern California in a mere two days, covering 1,360km and not having to refuel once.
Michael Empric from Guinness said, “As a Guinness World Records adjudicator for 10 years, I’ve had the opportunity to witness incredible attempts, including several distance-related feats,” said Empric.
“The Toyota Mirai’s journey without the need to refuel showcases the power of fuel cell electric technology. This technology and the design ingenuity by the team at Toyota led to a history-making moment.”
Posting Up
A recent deal between Stellantis and Samsung SDI plans to see the construction of a new battery production facility in North America by as soon as 2025.
While a site has yet to be picked out for the facility, Stellantis expects this move to put them ahead of the pack when it comes to electric mobility in North America.
“With the forthcoming battery plants coming online, we will be well positioned to compete and ultimately win in the North American electric vehicle market,” said Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares.
“Our strategy to work with highly recognized partners boosts the speed and agility needed to design and build safe, affordable and sustainable vehicles that match exactly what our customers demand.”
