Borne, Texas — What would you say to your grandparents or even great-grandparents if they decided to renew their driver’s license? For one Thomas “Ed” Davies, no conversations were needed when the 101-year-old decided to renew his license just “to see if he could.”

According to an original report from WNEM, the Texas Veteran simply filled out the required paperwork and was asked if he could read the text on a test card held up by an employee at the driver’s license office.

“Wasn’t much to it, really,” Davis originally told the news source.

Despite the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention stating that drivers aged 70 and older have higher crash death rates per 1,000 crashes than those aged 35 to 54, Davis claims that he has a “pretty spotless” driving record, with nothing more than some speeding tickets issued “long ago.”
