The collision repair industry has lost a keen industry advocate and contributor.
Western Paint and Equipment announced earlier this week Martin van der Ahe died surrounded by family on Jan. 21 after suffering complications from cancer treatment.
“Martin loved this industry and took immense pride in the work he did throughout his career. He especially enjoyed the people he met along the way in his various roles as a Purchasing & Operations professional within Collision Repair distribution channels,” said the announcement.
Martin spent the past nine years providing support and leadership at Western Paint & Equipment.
“Our hearts are heavy,” the announcement said. “[He was] a friend, a colleague… and a person who committed fully to all aspects of his life.”
His funeral service was held on Jan. 28 at Providence Canadian Reformed Church in Edmonton.
