Toronto, Ontario -- May 8, 2019 -- The AIA Canada recognized two Canadian industry leaders, Simplicity Car Care’s Paul Prochilo and industry veteran John MacDonald during its annual 77th general meeting at the Novotel Toronto Mississauga Hotel.

CEO of Simplicity Car Care Paul Prochilo is an active member in the aftermarket industry. His dedication has landed him the achievement of this year's Young Professionals in the Aftermarket (YPA) Young Leaders of the Year Award.

For the past several years Prochilo has been instrumental in establishing Simplicity as a major upcoming car care organization. Previous to this, he was the director of corporate strategy with Prochilo Brothers Auto Collision, a multi-shop operation located in Toronto, Ontario. He has also been a member of the CCIF steering committee and chairman of the PPG Elite Performance Group. Most recently, a member of the AIA Collision Industry Council.

The second award that was given out during the presentation was the AIA Distinguished Service Award. It recognizes an individual who has shown outstanding service and leadership, which contributes to the growth and development of Canada's automotive aftermarket industry. It is the highest award presented by AIA Canada to an individual member.

With John MacDonald's experience and commitment to the industry over the course of 35 years, he was awarded the AIA Distinguished Service Award. MacDonald is a strong supporter of the AIA Canada, serving on numerous councils including chairing AIA Canada’s Wholesalers Council. He also served as the AIA chair in 2012 and a director on the AIA High Fives for Kids Foundation Board. He first began his journey with his family’s business Ideal Supply Company in 1983 and recently retired last October.
