Toronto, Ontario -- April 25, 2019 -- Did you hear about the iconic Ford Station Wagon that sold for more than $100,000? Or how about the latest Tesla vehicle to catch fire? Collision Repair has prepared the top four unbelievable stories of the week.

Dealership Hit-and-run

An unusual occurrence happened at a dealership on Monday evening in Vancouver that involved $15,000 worth of damage. Alcohol is believed to be a factor when a woman driving an SUV crashed into a number of parked vehicles in the North Island dealership lot. Coastline Mazda released the footage of the hit-and-run and offered a reward of $1,000 to anyone that could identify the driver. It wasn’t until 24-hours later that the woman actually came forward to authorities and turned herself in.

Bad Parking Job

In a bizarre collision downtown Toronto last week, one driver parked a little too close to the restaurant, Uncle Smoke Cookhouse. The Jeep crashed into a telephone pole right outside the barbeque joint, balancing on its back wheels, just missing the front window of the restaurant. The driver swerved into the pole to avoid oncoming traffic. Luckily the wire on the telephone pole was able to hold the weight of the vehicle. The owners of the cookhouse found some humour in the situation posting photos to Instagram joking about valet parking and drive-thrus. No one was injured or charged in the incident.

The Wagon Queen Family Truckster

Someone re-created the iconic vehicle and put it up for sale at the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach auction a couple of weekends ago. Get ready for this. The re-created vehicle with a 5.0-litre cylinder engine and automatic transition sold for $100,100. The collector’s edition vehicle even has the glove compartment signed by Beverly D’Angleo who plays Ellen Griswold.

Investigating the Flames

Tesla is investigating one of its vehicles after a video of it combusting into flames has circulated the internet. The video was taken from a closed-circuit camera in an underground parking lot. It first shows smoke surrounding the vehicle, until it then just bursts into flames. As of right now, Tesla says they are unaware of any causalities and they have sent a team to Shanghai to investigate along with authorities.
