Toronto, Ontario -- February 13, 2019 –- For the first time ever OmniAir Consortium, a leading industry association promoting connected vehicles and Propulsion in Quebec, is partnering up to host Quebec Plugfest, an event dedicated to connected vehicle testing.
"OmniAir is excited to partner with Propulsion Québec to host our next Plugfest and V2X Policy Conference," said Jason Conley, executive director of OmniAir Consortium. "Québec's growing reputation as a leader in smart transportation and sustainable mobility makes it a natural choice for OmniAir and our members."
The event will feature expert panelists discussing technical and policy issues surrounding connected and automated vehicles including cybersecurity, privacy, deployment, and certification. There will also be highly technical workshops and guided tours of the testing areas.
The event will essentially be four days of intensive conformance, interoperability, security, and field testing across multiple testing stations for both DSRC and C-V2X based technologies.
Quebec Plugfest is expecting an array of people to attend the event including government officials, vehicle-to-infrastructure (V21) device makers, automotive OEMs, and Tier One suppliers, as well as engineering firms.
The government officials expected to attend are interested in deploying certified V21 technology to learn firsthand the value OmniAir Certification adds to their deployments. OEMs and Tier One suppliers are looking to incorporate certified V2X into their products.
"We are proud to host the first international edition of the OmniAir Plugfest!" said Sarah Houde, Propulsion Québec's CEO. "Québec has a rich and flourishing electric and smart transportation ecosystem, and its global leadership in developing and testing technologies to connect vehicles is now widely recognized. The OmniAir Québec Plugfest is the perfect opportunity for members of both our organizations to gather and advance research in this booming industry."
The event will take place at Transport Canada's Motor Vehicle Test Centre in Blainville, Canada from May 6-10.
