Michel Véronneau and Valérie Véronneau run their business like it's their family.

By CRM Staff

Peterborough, Ontario -- February 17, 2017 -- The new edition of Collision Repair magazine is now available in digital format. Focusing on the future of the automotive industry, the issue also draws attention to the ways it is already changing.

Cover Story

The cover story in this edition of Collision Repair features Michel Véronneau and his daughter, Valérie, who own three Fix Auto locations in Quebec. The team share the same belief in quality customer service, as well as their responsibility to their employees. Along with other members of their family, the father-daughter duo work hard to make sure their employees feel appreciated, even offering paid days off for birthdays. They also make a point to thank their employees for their hard work by hosting special events throughout the year.

Disruptive Innovation

A new breed of car is entering the market: the connected vehicle. This evolved car will make use of many different technologies, including internet access, the ability to communicate with other vehicles, and safety features. Changes are coming to traditional vehicle ownership practices, also with the inception of vehicle subscription and renting services seeing fewer customers owning their own vehicles. The incoming fleets of electric and autonomous vehicles will have repairers scratching their heads about what to do with the complex computerized systems they contain.

Northumberland Collision Centre

A group of local dealerships in Cobourg and Port Hope have joined forces to open their very own bodyshop—Northumberland Collision Centre. Those involved with the centre believe this is the beginning of a shift away from the independently owned or franchisee business. The idea behind the opening of the store is for the dealers to offer their customers a full-service experience where they can look after their customers from start to finish.
