BASF is accepting entries for the second annual Glasurit Best Paint Award, to be presented by Chip Foose at SEMA in November.

Las Vegas, Nevada -- August 10, 2016 -- Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, BASF Automotive Refinish has announced it is now accepting entries for the second-annual Glasurit Best Paint award, to be presented at the 2016 SEMA show later this year.

Developed as a way of honouring outstanding excellence in painting, the competition will take the very best designers the continent has to offer and pit them against each other in an attempt to find the most outstanding vehicle.

The competition will be both judged and presented by world-renowned automobile designer Chip Foose. To be considered for the award, vehicles must be on display at SEMA, taking place in Las Vegas from November 1 to 4, and must use one of Glasurit’s 22, 55 or 90 line products, including primer, colour and clear. Foose will judge vehicles based on fit and finish, quality of preparation and final presentation.

“We are proud to partner with world renowned designer Chip Foose to recognize the highest level of craftsmanship for vehicles restored with Glasurit,” said Shefali Cromer, Glasurit’s market segment manager.

The winner of the contest will receive a trophy designed by Foose himself, a personalized rendering autographed by Foose and a customized Glasurit Best Paint Award jacket. The second and third place winners will also receive personalized and signed renderings, as well as their own Glasurit Best Paint Award jackets.
