Winnipeg, Manitoba -- June 8, 2016 -- The Boyd Group has opened another collision repair centre, this time in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The facility previously operated as part of the Seelye Ford car dealership.
Kevin Hopp has managed the collision centre for the last two years and will continue in this role under Boyd. The new location will operate under the Gerber Collision & Glass name.
"Adding this location to our other two centres in Kalamazoo gives us coverage in the southern part of the city to better serve new customers and our insurance partners," said Tim O'Day, President and COO of the Boyd Group's US operations. "Additionally, this repair centre being co-located with a car dealership gives us a prime opportunity to introduce dealership customers to our high level of quality and service."
The Boyd Group has announced a string of acquisitions in the last month. Since the beginning of May 2016, the consolidator has added two facilities in Oklahoma, acquired a licensed partner in BC and bought a new location in North Carolina.
Brock Bulbuck, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Boyd Group, outlined the company's aggressive growth strategy in an official statement discussing Boyd Group's first quarter results.
"When we reported our year-end results this past March, we stated that our goal was to double the size of our business by 2020 and based on our results this past quarter we're confident we are right on track," said Bulbuck. "The positive industry trends that drive same-store sales growth, our strong balance sheet, along with 'dry powder' of $350 million, position us extremely well for continued growth and continued investment in our business."
