AkzoNobel's Acoat Selected program celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.

Toronto, Ontario -- April 18, 2016 -- AkzoNobel created the Acoat Selected program 40 years ago to help customers with efficient business practices, training on the latest technology and to help pass on the knowledge and experience needed to manage and maintain a profitable, high-quality body shop.

Bill Williams is the Body Shop Manager for Richmond Chrysler in Richmond, British Columbia. He has been a part of the Acoat Selected programs for 15 years and believes that it’s a very important tool to making your business better.

“Without a doubt, the information is necessary," says Williams. "It’s always good to stay on top of things, especially in our industry. It’s helpful too, in communicating effectively with other body repair shops.”

Simon Parker is the Managing Director of AkzoNobel’s Vehicle Refinishing business. He explains that Acoat Selected has expanded significantly over the last 40 years.

“We set up Acoat Selected to help Sikkens customers expand their customer base,” he says. “The fact that it is getting stronger and stronger today demonstrates our ongoing commitment to body shop performance, enabling improvements to be achieved through true partnership.”

According to a statement from AkzoNobel, some of the benefits of being part of the Acoat Selected program include financial reviews, paint and materials management analysis and metrics tracking. There are also many customer service tools and information packages to help maximize customer service potential.

“AkzoNobel is far more than just a coatings supplier," says Parker. "The longevity of Acoat Selected shows how involved we are in the challenges that face our customers. The network has helped us to work closer with Sikkens customers to create the essential products and processes for the future of the industry.”
