LORD to discuss advances in bonding at NACE Automechanika 2017

In addition to highlighting advances in bonding at NACE Automechanika, representatives from LORD and Saint-Gobain (Refinish Solutions Group) will present on the what the companies recent partnership means for the collision repair industry.

Cary, North Carolina — July 23, 2017 — LORD Corporation has announced it will share its expertise on structural and non-structural bonding at the upcoming NACE Automechanika 2017. In addition, the company will also share details on the tradeshow’s media stage about its recent partnership with Saint-Gobain. Lord Corporation makes the Fusor line of aftermarket repair adhesives

An educational program on “Bonding & Structural Bonding” will be presented on Wednesday July 26. Douglas Craig, Structural Adhesives Applications Engineering Manager & Collision Repair Industry Liaison, will provide a high level review of adhesives, their evolution, technologies available as well as use and safety tips. According to LORD, the educational session will serve as a primer on adhesive technology and automotive adhesive applications, both OEM and during repair. The course will also address why the use of adhesives has dramatically increased, how to use them on modern vehicles, and pertinent information for proper repair of collision-damaged vehicles.

On Thursday July 27, LORD Corporation and Saint-Gobain representatives will provide details about their new partnership and the addition of Fusor to the full line of products the Saint-Gobain Refinish Solutions Group (RSG) distributes to bodyshops in Canada, the US and Mexico.

According to LORD, the commercial relationship with Saint-Gobain was formed to address the industry need for having Fusor available as part of a “one-stop shopping” experience.

“Multi-shop operators (MSO) consolidation and distributor consolidation offers the ability to bring a full line offering to the body shop in terms of inventory management and improving overall efficiency at both the MSO and distributor level,” says Julie Miller, Global Business Manager for Aftermarket for LORD Corporation. “While Saint-Gobain concentrates on sales and service excellence, Fusor can focus on developing new, innovative, cutting edge adhesives and sealers while supporting OEMs in the collision industry.”
