Class in Session: Tropicana’s Pre-Apprenticeship program is now accepting applications

Toronto, Ontario — Tropicana Employment Centre is calling on youth between 18 to 30 years of age to enroll in its Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer 310B Pre-Apprenticeship Program—set to begin Monday, April 6.

Over the span of 30 weeks, this tuition-free course guides its members into receiving their Level 1 accreditation, acting as a stepping stone to finding an apprenticeship. Through 12 weeks of technical training at Centennial College’s Ashtonbee campus and 12 weeks of paid work placements, applicants will find themselves building the skills necessary to find careers as Auto Body and Collision Technician Apprentices, Auto Collision Damage Estimators, Service Advisors or Parts Technician Apprentices.

Applicants will also receive a free toolkit with course materials, a complimentary TTC Metro Pass during the school session, and a success scholarship offered to the student with the highest cumulative GPA.

The application deadline for the Pre-Apprenticeship Program is March 31. The program requires that applicants land within the 18 to 30 age range, are legally entitled to work in Canada, have obtained their high-school diploma (or equivalent), and are able to commit to the 30 weeks of training time.

According to the program’s coordinator, Suad Dualeh, applicants are encouraged to apply early as space is limited.

More information regarding the program can be found on Tropicana Employment Centre’s site. Those interested are advised to contact Dualeh at sdualeh@tropicanaemployment.ca
