PGM of Texas

PGM of Texas is a leader in the efficient reclamation of metals that are essential to the American way of life. Founded in 2010 in Dripping Springs, the company’s roots in strategic metals recycling stretch back to 1999, when CEO Allen Hickman started his first catalytic converter recycling organization. Since then, decades of experience and technical expertise have combined to make the company an industry leader.

In 2020 the company moved its headquarters to a 100,000 square foot warehouse and office space in San Marcos, Texas. Through a combination of organic growth and acquisition (we purchased Legend Smelting and Recycling and Maryland Core Inc. in 2021) PGM of Texas has expanded to include twenty-three locations across the United States. The company’s facilities house four ceramic auto catalyst sampling lines, foil and O2 sensor sampling lines, more than fifty hydraulic shears and two wet chemical laboratories.

As North America’s largest catalytic converter processor, PGM of Texas is committed to ethically sourcing its raw materials then extracting highly valuable platinum, palladium, and rhodium at its four state-of-the-art processing facilities. PGM of Texas uses high-tech processes that enable it to recover virtually 100 percent of these valuable metals from the waste stream—but the company does not stop there. When it comes to converters, it is a zero-waste operation, recycling everything from shields to sensors.

PGM of Texas believes that it succeeds when its suppliers succeed, so it treats all its suppliers as partners. For example, PGM of Texas partners benefit from using the company’s industry-leading app which is constantly updated with the latest converter content data painstakingly gathered by the chemists and technicians at its headquarters in San Marcos, Texas. Made freely available to all PGM of Texas partners in the field, this powerful tool enables the ability to make informed purchasing decisions by providing real time pricing information based on current metal market values and PGM of Texas’s own constantly updated testing data.

The leadership team at PGM of Texas is comprised of industry veterans and experts with hundreds of years of collective experience and an unyielding commitment to our core values. As part of the company’s
