Highway pile-ups

By CRM Staff

Toronto, Ontario – February 25, 2019 – More than 20 vehicles were involved in a pile-up collision on Highway 115 between Tapley 1/4 Line and Porter Road southwest of the city of Peterborough on Monday morning.

Both southbound lanes were closed for a stretch of 250 metres due to the collision. Two people were transported to the hospital following the crash for further treatment.

School buses for the city and county of Peterborough, along with the City of Kawartha Lakes were canceled Monday morning due to extreme wind and blowing snow causing limited visibility and unfavorable road conditions.

Portions of highway 400 near Barrie were also closed today due to an approximately 70 vehicle pile-up.

The OPP is reminding drivers to keep a safe distance between vehicles in front of them, while also reminding drivers to drive according to the road conditions.
