Go-Karts Are Over: U.K. company selling supercar experiences to kids

Toronto, Ontario — With all the teens making headlines recently as would-be stunt drivers, a U.K.-based track experience company is opting for some exposure therapy, offering kids aged ten to 17 the opportunity to drive a supercar on a racetrack.

You read that correctly. Track Days is charging £79 ($130CAD) per ticket, to allow young people to get behind the wheel of a Ferrari 458 Italia or a Lamborghini Gallardo LP570 Performante.

The program will of course be under strict supervision and come with an introductory lesson from one of the experienced instructors, followed by a nearly 10-km run around the track.

“We are incredibly excited to be able to bring this experience to kids who probably never imagined that they could end up driving the car of their dreams, or from the poster on their bedroom wall,” the company said in a release.

“It’s certainly a step up from a first driving experience in their parents’ car to get behind the wheel of a 200-mph-plus Ferrari or Lamborghini!”

Track Days says it intends to take the program to ten tracks around the U.K.
