Discount Car and Truck Rentals hosts 29th annual charity golf tournament

Toronto, Ontario — August 14, 2019 – Discount Car and Truck Rentals hosted their 29th annual golf tournament on August 9th to raise funds for the Chase McEachern Tribute Fund.

Hosted at the Angus Glen Golf Club in Markham Ontario, industry members gathered to connect, play golf, and of course, raise money.

For more than 13 years, Discount Car and Truck has hosted its tournament to support the Chase McEachern Tribute Fund. In 2006, Chase passed away at his school from cardiac arrest.

According to Discount Car and Truck Rentals, the fund in his memorial “supports the goal of providing schools, hockey arenas and any public facility across the country with automated external defibrillators.”

“With funds raised at our 2018 tournament the fund reached an agreement with the city of Orillia to place three defibrillators into their new recreation facility,” stated Discount. “This sports complex will be finished in late summer of 2019. A defibrillator will be placed on each floor of the state of the art center.”

In addition to the three new defibrillators, it is estimated that industry members have raised enough money to be able to place more than 40 automatic external defibrillators in schools across Canada.

Adam Ceifets, Discount’s director of national insurance sales says that the company is very touched to receive so much support.

“The Chase McEachern Tribute Fund is something that is very close to our hearts,” said Ceifets. “I am overwhelmed year after year to see all of our sponsors and industry partners out in full force to support us.  We see it throughout the summer at various charitable tournaments, this is an industry that gives back and I think we’ve all seen firsthand the results of that today.”

“We’re incredibly proud to support the Chase McEachern Tribute Fund and work closely with the McEachern family.”
