Lor

Toronto, Ontario -- The average length of collision repair procedures in Canada fell by more than five percent the first quarter of 2025, a new study has found.

The Enterprise Rent-A-Car Length of Rental Q1 2025 Canada Report reveals a modest yet meaningful shift in the nation's collision repair landscape. The average rental length for collision-related rentals dipped to 16.2 days, marking a 0.9-day decrease from Q1 2024.

Provincially, Alberta reported the highest rental lengths at 18.8 days, reflecting a 0.9-day increase from the previous year. In contrast, Ontario and Nova Scotia experienced significant reductions, with rental lengths decreasing by 1.6 and 1.4 days respectively. Prince Edward Island recorded the lowest LOR at 14.3 days, indicating a 0.3-day improvement.

A similar report on lengths of rentals in the U.S. also found a significant decrease in repair times south of the border. In the U.S., the national average decreased by 0.9 days to 16.7 days. Losses were also reported in the two preceding quarters, with a 1.1-day drop in Q1 2024 and a 1.1-day decrease in Q1 2023.

Despite these improvements, the current rental length remains 3.5 days higher than the pre-pandemic average of 13.2 days in Q1 2020.  Alaska reported the highest average rental length of 20.8 days, while North Dakota had the lowest at 12 days.
