1. Industry-wide communication at CCIF 2018 Toronto

In January various banners, engineers, paint giants and just about almost everyone from the industry attended the CCIF conference in Toronto. With a record-breaking 916 registrants, it was named as the biggest CCIF ever. New products, methods and and a new udnerstanding was around every corner in the array of booths. The conference highlights the changes expected to be coming, as well as the future of the industry. But the theme of younf people came up repeatedly throughout the event. By 2020 our workforce will look completely different,” said Marie Artim, VP talent & Acquisition, Enterprise, during her presentation. Artim suggested shops should adopt a different approach to hiring the millennial generation. “Don’t focus on cars,” she said. “Encourage people to know your culture, your attitude – what makes you different.” That, she said, is what is going to attract a new generation of talent.
