Hoffman Estates, Illinois -- September 22, 2012 -- Blueprinting, a process that helps improve repair quality while streamlining efficiencies by using a standardized approach to collision repair planning, has obvious benefits. The hurdle for some repairers is in learning how the process works. A new course from I-CAR promises to help remove that barrier.
I-CAR will premiere its new live demo course, Blueprinting Process and Damage Discovery (BLU01), during the Technology Showcase at NACE. With this course, I-CAR hopes to enhance the student classroom experience, and thus learning effectiveness. Live demo courses are designed to provide a more interactive training experience with the aim of achieving increased student engagement and learning.
Blueprinting Process and Damage Discovery is an interactive course that defines the blueprinting process. The course goes beyond the disassembly of damaged parts and writing damage reports to help students uncover hidden damage that affects the repair process. Demonstrations include a number of quick checks and other techniques that support the process. Implementation tips are also reviewed. During this live demo course, the instructor uses an actual vehicle to demonstrate technique and engage students in the learning process.
Jason Bartanen, I-CAR Technical Director said, “This is the seventh consecutive year that I-CAR will bring the Technology Showcase to NACE, but the first time we have been able to bring an I-CAR class to the show floor. We believe that this year’s offering will be very valuable to attendees. They will be able to witness firsthand how the blueprinting process can minimize supplements and increase productivity in a collision repair facility,” Bartanen continued, “We are also thrilled to add “Blueprinting” to the Live Demo course category. With the addition of this course, I-CAR is further demonstrating its commitment to developing courses that are not only relevant, but also engaging for the student.”
Completion of this course will satisfy Gold Class business requirements for Non-Structural Technicians looking to fulfill New Technology requirements and ProLevel 3 training requirements for Estimators and Auto Physical Damage Appraisers. The four credit hour course will be offered at a special NACE premiere price of $100 – a savings of $56 for standard pricing.
Two sessions of Blueprinting Process and Damage Discovery will be offered from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 11 and Friday, October 12.
Those interested in observing once registration is full will be able to observe portions of the class, but will not have the opportunity to partake in discussions or the interactive damage discovery process portion of the class. Observers also will not receive credit for the class. To register, and secure special NACE premiere pricing, visit naceexpo.com.
