CICMA golfs for "Camp Ooch" PDF Print E-mail

Aurora, Ontario--June 29, 2010--Canadian Insurance Claims Managers Association held their annual golf tournament at the Cardinal Golf Club in Aurora last Friday. As many as 300 golfers turned up from the collision repair and insurance industries for the day, all of which benefited the event's charity of choice, Camp Oochigeas.

Camp "Ooch," as they call themselves, is a fully equipped residential camp designed specifically for children with cancer. Every summer, they give over 250 children between the ages of 6-19 the opportunity to discover the magic and joy of summer camp.

Last year, the CICMA's tournament helped raise $18,000 for the camp.

"It's an incredible event to raise awareness and to raise money to send kids to camp," said Rebecca Turnbull, Camp Ooch's funding and events coordinator. " It's really neat, especially as summer is coming up. [The kids] are counting down the days."
